Roadworks are set to begin today at one of the busiest junctions in the area - with delays expected for the next six weeks.

Cargo Fleet Lane is being widened to create a separate lane for vehicles turning right at its junction with Cranmore Road.

Once completed, the work will mean that vehicles travelling south on Cargo Fleet Lane towards Ormesby will not have to wait for cars which are turning right.

It will also allow the junction to flow more efficiently, particularly during the evening rush-hour, reducing the congestion and delays that currently occur.

The council say it hopes the works will be finished by the end of March.
