A man has been shot and beaten with baseball bats on Skippers Lane industrial estate.

It happened early yesterday morning on Murdock Road.

Four men in a navy blue Volkswagen Golf used baseball bats to attack the victim before shooting him in the leg.

And at around ten o'clock yesterday morning police discovered the car on fire in woods near Saltburn.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but his injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage of the Volkswagen to call them on 101.

A van has crashed into a bank in Saltburn. It happened on Monday afternoon on Station Street.

The van was involved in a crash with a black Mercedes before veering off into a Barclays branch.

No one was injured but the crash has caused damage to the front of the bank

Residents are invited to a “Love it” event this weekend.

Members of the public can take part in activities like making bird feeders, brass rubbing as well as games.

It's been organised by the council to encourage communities to come together and love their local areas.

As part of the “Love It” campaign, volunteers will be there carrying out litter picks.

The event takes place this Saturday at King George Playing Field in Guisborough between ten and two o'clock.
