Police in Guisborough have charged a man after homes were burgled in the town.

Officers from the East Cleveland Neighbourhood Policing Team have charged a man and he will be in court on two counts of burglary.

Investigations are still on-going into other burglaries which have occurred in the area recently.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the team on the non-emergency number 101.

Work is due to begin on a £250,000 scheme of improvements in Eston.

The Eston Town Centre Enhancement Project will include new high quality paving around the war memorial, road-widening improvements, refurbished street furniture, new banner poles and other public realm improvements.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are aiming to have the project completed in advance of the Armistice Day Remembrance Sunday event.

Businesses and residents are being asked to be patient while the work takes place to transform how the Town Centre is viewed.

Large numbers of people are expected to gather in Eston today as a major running event takes place.

The SABIC Eston Nab Challenge takes place today and is expected to be extremely popular.

Members of the public are invited to come along from 10am to cheer on the runners and enjoy the fantastic event village in Eston Square.

There will also be market stalls, tempting treats, free family fun and the Eston Residents Association heritage exhibition and competition.

The event will be taking place today between 10am and 4pm.
