Police are appealing for information after two cars were involved in a collision on a busy road in our area.

A Renault Scenic and a Jaguar XJ collided on Stokesley Road at the traffic light controlled junction with Marton Country Club in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred on Sunday just before quarter to one in the afternoon.

The passengers of the Jaguar suffered minor injuries and were treated at James Cook University Hospital.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the collision are asked to contact PC Spencer Kindon from Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A yellow weather warning for wind has been issued for our area today.

The Met Office said strong gales could lead to road closures and damage to buildings.

Forecasters say the winds may potentially cause a threat to life due to flying debris and large waves.

Inland gusts of 60-70 mph are possible with gusts of 80 mph in more exposed locations.

The nature reserve at South Gare is to benefit from almost fifty thousand pounds worth of funding.

Repairs, restoration and new developments to the tune of £49,947 will be carried out at the South Gare Nature Reserve, in Redcar, after being chosen among 25 other projects to benefit from the Coastal Revival Fund.

The grant scheme has provided more than £4.7m to support 117 projects in coastal areas since being set up by the Government in 2015.

The funding granted to the Redcar and Cleveland area will also see visitor facilities created at the South Gare.
