A man has died in a crash which closed the A171 Guisborough Bypass for more than nine hours at the weekend;

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat were called into action at the weekend;

A man has died in a crash which closed the A171 Guisborough Bypass for more than nine hours at the weekend.

The two-vehicle accident, involving two estate cars happened in the early hours of yesterday.

A man who was driving a black Seat was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 27-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

 

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat were called into action at the weekend.

Just after 1pm on Saturday both lifeboats were tasked following reports of a person cut off by the tide under Huntcliff at Saltburn.

Upon arrival at Huntcliff the crew found a 5-gallon drum, believed to have been the cause of the call-out.

The lifeboats then returned to the station at Redcar.

 

Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been in action once again in our area.

The team was called out at 10pm on Friday to the Carlton Bank area to a report of a 15 year old girl from a scout group with an ankle injury.

Team members deployed via a nearby farm to reach the injured girl who was 800m up a hillside.

She was treated on scene and carried on one of the team's specialist stretchers down to the farm and handed over to the waiting ambulance crew.
