A further 203 people on Teesside have tested positive for covid-19.

The latest figures released by Public Health England saw Stockton have the highest daily rise in infections with 74 new cases.

In Middlesbrough there were 63 new cases, whilst here in Redcar and Cleveland there have been a further 38.

A teenager from East Cleveland is fighting for her life in hospital after being struck by a tractor near Ripon.

The 19-year-old girl was hit by the passing vehicle while standing next to a broken-down silver 4×4 Hyundai.

The collision occurred on Fountains Road between Ripley and Bishop Thornton in North Yorkshire at around 5.17pm last Wednesday.

The young woman, from Loftus, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Police say the driver of the tractor did not initially stop at the scene, however, he was quickly traced by officers and assisted them with their investigation.

The driver has been subsequently released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Police are appealing for information after a firearm was shot at the door of a property in Guisborough yesterday.

The incident happened on Raithwaite Close around quarter past midnight yesterday morning.

Police say that there were occupants inside the property at the time, however they were unharmed.

Officers are appealing for information regarding three males, all described as being dressed in dark clothing, who were seen near to the property shortly before the incident.
