She said that throughout both happy and challenging times, he was a strong and supportive figure to the Queen and has gained universal respect from the people of Great Britain and will be greatly missed by all.

The Union flag has been lowered to half-mast at the Redcar Community Heart and public buildings and will remain at half-mast until 8am on the morning following Prince Philip's funeral.

There are also changes to weddings and funerals.

From Monday, funerals can continue with up to 30 attendees. Weddings, outdoor receptions, and commemorative events will be able to take place with 15 attendees in premises that are permitted to open.
