The Chief Constable of Cleveland Police, Jacqui Cheer, has joined thousands of people across the world taking part in the ALS ice bucket challenge.

In a video posted to YouTube this afternoon, Ms Cheer, dressed in full police uniform, is doused in icy water by her colleague, staff officer Nick Hunt.

Prior to the drenching, Ms Cheers nominates Mike Barton, the Chief Constable of Durham Police, and the new Cleveland Police Assistant Chief Constable Simon Nickless to participate in the challenge.
