The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been called into action in our area after a man fell from a motorbike at Eston Nab.

The team attended following reports that the man had fallen from the bike and injured his ankle at the top of Eston Nab.

Team members assisted with treatment including the provision of pain relief for a suspected fracture and dislocation of the casualty’s left ankle.

After treatment he was lifted onto a rescue stretcher, secured within a vacuum mattress and wrapped in a casualty bag to keep warm, and then carried to the waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

A mini-treatment works has been built in Saltburn as emergency repairs continue on a burst pipe which left sewage spilling into the sea.

Northumbrian Water has said its engineers have been continuing to work over the weekend to repair the pipe at the Cat Nab car park.

The pipe was damaged by a team working on behalf of Redcar and Cleveland Council earlier this week and has led to the closure of the car park and toilets.

Northumbrian Water say that they have now built a mini treatment works at the site, to further minimise the impact on the environment, while the repair on the pipe takes place.

This temporary treatment works facility will be in place for the duration of the repair, which is a complicated fix and expected to continue well into this week.

Police are asking for the public's help to reunite a number of valuable items with their owner.

Officers recovered a number of items including jewellery, collectable coins and medals at an address in Loftus earlier this month.

Police are seeking information about the items and would ask anyone who believes that they recognise the items, or can provide information about them, to contact Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101.

You can see photographs of the items on the Zetland FM Facebook page.
