Two teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing a motorbike and riding it on a pedestrianised area in Redcar;

Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of an attempted child abduction in Middlesbrough;

...and Police are appealing for information after a moped was stolen at knifepoint in Southbank.

 

Two teenagers have been arrested after allegedly stealing a motorbike and riding it on a pedestrianised area in Redcar.

The motorbike was reported stolen shortly before 1pm on Wednesday 26th October, and reports were received of a motorbike being ridden dangerously on a pedestrianised precinct in Redcar around an hour later.

Two males, both aged 17, were arrested later that evening after neighbourhood officers spotted the bike matching the description of the stolen vehicle in Guisborough at around 7:20pm.  After a short pursuit, the teenagers were caught by police and arrested.

One male was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

The second male was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, failing to provide an evidential sample under the Road Traffic Act, driving without a licence, no insurance, riding without a helmet and Breach of Criminal Behaviour Order.

Both have been released on conditional bail.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of an attempted child abduction in Middlesbrough.

Around 6:15pm on Saturday 29th October, police received a report that a male had attempted to grab a six-year-old boy at a festival in Centre Square, Middlesbrough.

The suspect is reported to have grabbed the boy by the wrist and attempted to pull him away from his mother.

When the suspect did not succeed, he ran off in the direction of Corporation Road.

The suspect is described as a "brown male", possibly Asian, aged in his 30s, 5ft 10" tall, skinny build, short dark hair with a spikey fringe and wearing a black zip-up jacket. The male had a mark on his right cheek.

Any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have information regarding the identity of the suspect, or anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage which may assist the investigation, is asked to contact Detective Constable Itsharm Ramzan at Middlesbrough CID on 101, quoting incident number 195418.

 

Police are appealing for information after a moped was stolen at knifepoint in Southbank.

At around 17:40 hrs on the evening of Thursday 27th October, near the to junction of Middlesbrough Road and Normaby Road, the owner of a black moped was threatened with a knife and forced to hand over the vehicle. 

The suspect is described as a white male with fair skin and ginger hair, skinny build and around 5' 9" tall, wearing dark jogging bottoms and a dark grey puffer jacket.

The owner of the bike was shaken but unhurt.

Officers are asking anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference number SE22193901.
