Two people have been charged in connection with a high value burglary in Middlesbrough.

A man in his late 50s reported that a large sum of cash, a TV, bank cards, a phone and other possessions were stolen by a man and a woman sometime overnight last Thursday.

Middlesbrough CID arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with burglary, he appeared in court last week where he was further remanded.

On Friday a 30-year-old woman was also charged with burglary.

She appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Kirkleatham Walled Garden has announced that it is has become a dog friendly site.

As of today dogs on short leads will be allowed to be walked around the walled garden, and there will also be a number of dog friendly tables in the tea room.

Dogs will also be able to sit anywhere on the main terrace.

The news is expected to be welcomed by dog owners in our area.

Student police officers in our area have been praised after raising money for charity.

The Cleveland Police student officer cohort which passed out in December 2022 raised over £1,600 for the MS Society and Cancer Research UK.

As part of their training, each cohort is challenged with raising money for good causes and the students chose the two charities as a number of them have lost family members to cancer or have close ones who are living with multiple sclerosis.

The money was raised by a host of activity including a running challenge, a football raffle, fundraising scratch cards and bake sales.
