A house in our area has been closed due to anti-social behaviour following a court order.

Magistrates have agreed to close the rented house after hearing of neighbours being subjected to months of anti-social behaviour - including drug use and gangs brandishing knives and machetes in the street.

Teesside Magistrates Court agreed to close the property on Jackson Street in Brotton after hearing of complaints going back months after a couple moved in.

The court ordered that the property be closed for three months and the couple must now leave.

The application for the Closure Order was brought by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council with the support of Cleveland Police after months of work by officers.

A 20-year-old man has been hospitalised after a stabbing in Middlesbrough.

Emergency services descended on Crescent Road on Wednesday evening after reports that a man had been assaulted.

When they arrived, officers found he had sustained numerous stab wounds when he was in the children's play park at Ayresome Gardens.

The victim is in hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driverless white Nissan car-derived van moved onto the level crossing at Nunthorpe Train Station yesterday afternoon and got stuck on the tracks as the barriers went down. 

The vehicle was not occupied at the time and had caused minor damage to a car it had travelled past, therefore both vehicle owners exchanged details.

Police say that Network Rail were aware of the situation and there have been no injuries or any subsequent incidents reported as a consequence of the vehicle being on the level crossing.
