Police have appealed for the public's help in tracking thieves who have made off with a large wooden owl in a local village in our area;

...and one of the final structures at the former steelworks plant is the latest to be reduced to rubble in a controlled explosion.
Police have appealed for the public's help in tracking thieves who have made off with a large wooden owl in a local village in our area.
Cleveland Police said the statue, which is about 50cm tall, was taken from Saltburn Lane in Skelton.
The owl, one of several placed around the village, is believed to have been taken between midday on Saturday and 11am on Sunday.
Police have appealed for anyone with information to get in touch.
The volunteers of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team have been in action in our area over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Just after 5.30 on Friday evening the team deployed at the request of the North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust after receiving a report of a teenager who had sustained a leg injury following a biking accident in Errington Woods, just to the south of New Marske.
He was carried on a mountain rescue stretcher for approximately 250-metres to a waiting ambulance for onward treatment at hospital.
Then on Saturday afternoon the Team deployed to assist ambulance crews dealing with a woman who had sustained injuries after a fall whilst walking near Coatham Marsh, north of Redcar.
The casualty was treated by a paramedic and was then carried on a mountain rescue for approximately 500-metres to a waiting ambulance for onward treatment at hospital.

On Friday, the Coke Ovens Gas Holder at Teesworks in Redcar was blown down at approximately 2pm.
The 62 metre tall grey cylindrical structure was was brought down by one controlled explosion.
This was the final explosive demolition taking place for the Redcar Coke Ovens, after the main structure was brought down in June last year.
