Police were called to the Teesworks site yesterday afternoon after reports of an unexploded bomb.
Emergency services were in attendance at the site in Redcar after a suspected unexploded World War II device was discovered.
Officers received the call at around 4.30pm yesterday.
Bomb disposal officers from the MOD were also in attendance in order to deal with the device safely.
A man has been charged in connection with a robbery in Normanby.
The 30-year-old man, who is from Marske, has been charged with a robbery at T-Style Barbers in Normanby, an attempted robbery at Tesco Express in Normanby.
He was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place and assault on an emergency worker.
All the alleged incidents were reported on Saturday.
The man appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday.
The volunteers of the Redcar RNLI lifeboat have been called into action in our area.
Just after twenty five to two yesterday afternoon, the Redcar Atlantic 85 was launched after reports of a person in an inflatable being blown out to sea off Marske.
The person managed to swim to shore.
A search was carried out in that area to check for other possible casualties but none were found.
The lifeboat was then able to return safely to the lifeboat station at Redcar.
