Healing Hands At The Heart
A PHYSIOTHERAPIST who has treated some of Britain’s most successful athletes is offering his services at Redcar & Cleveland Leisure and Community Heart.
Martin Davies and his business partner, Drew Coverdale, have opened a new clinic in the building as part of their existing Active Physio Care brand.
Martin, 34, has worked at the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics and said he offers the same expert services to both elite athletes and the general public. He said “Drew and I hold advanced qualifications in physiotherapy that very few other practitioners hold and we help deliver the course at Teesside University. “We both work with athletes and other professionals who are literally at the top of their game but we offer the same level of care to everyone. So poor old Beryl who is struggling with the stairs and her dodgy knee can expect the same standard as the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy on the velodrome!”
It's the fifth clinic that Martin and 43-year-old former Middlesbrough FC player, Drew, have opened in the region and the duo have trained up several qualified staff.
Martin said: “The Heart is a fantastic modern building and the leisure facilities really are fantastic. It makes perfect sense for a business like ours to align itself with this facility and it helps us project the professional image and reputation we have worked so hard to build.”
The firm is one of the latest in a growing number to open in Redcar & Cleveland Council’s £31m Civic, Leisure and 42-unit Business Centre in Ridley Street, Redcar.
Mark Hannon, the Council’s Cabinet member for Economic Development said; “We’re getting some excellent feedback from our new tenants and their customers. The leisure
facilities have been well used from day one but it’s fantastic to welcome all of the new tenants who are bringing the rest of the building to life.”
