A Teesside man has died following a crash on the A171;

A patient has been taken to hospital following a crash in Redcar;

...and two men have been bailed whilst enquiries continue into an incident in South Terrace in South Bank on Saturday 7th October.

 

A Teesside man has died following a crash on the A171.

Emergency services were called to the scene, near Scaling Dam, on Sunday at 7pm.

The serious collision involved a grey Hyundai Kona SUV and a black Hyundai i40.

Paramedics treated both drivers at the scene.

Sadly, the driver of the Kona, a man in his late 40s from the East Cleveland area, was later pronounced dead.

The man who was driving the i40 was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening..

North Yorkshire Police closed the road, between Scaling Dam and the Runswick Bay turn off, for several hours while investigations were carried out.

Paramedics confirmed that two people were taken James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.

 

A patient has been taken to hospital following a crash in Redcar.

Emergency services were called to Low Farm Drive, in Redcar, yesterday afternoon shortly after 4.30pm.

The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed it was called to a road traffic collision although details of the crash have not yet been confirmed.

One patient was taken to the James Cook University Hospital.

Details of their injuries have not yet been released.

 

Two men have been bailed whilst enquiries continue into an incident in South Terrace in South Bank on Saturday 7th October.

The incident happened around 3:30pm on South Terrace at the end of the road closest to Kings Street.

A 36-year-old man was left with injuries to his head, mouth, fingers and legs, whilst a 31-year-old man sustained puncture wounds consistent with dog bites. Both men made their own way to hospital for treatment. The injuries were not life threatening.

Two men, aged 30 and 54, were arrested late on Saturday evening on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and later bailed whilst enquiries continue.

Two dogs have been seized from a property in Southbank in connection with the incident.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, CCTV, dashcam footage or Ring doorbell footage are asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
