Police have issued an appeal for information following a collision in Middlesbrough.

The collision happened at around 5.45pm on Tuesday at the junction of West Lane and Connaught Road and involved a pedestrian and an off-road bike.

The unknown rider of the quad bike collided with a 15-year-old boy who was taken to James Cook University Hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The rider is believed to have paid the boy a small amount of money at the scene but he left the scene before police arrived.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

A man has been jailed after stealing items from two stores in Eston and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

26-year-old Jamie Barker was issued with the order by the courts in August 2023 after he was convicted of a number of shoplifting offences.

The order is in place until August 2025 and prevents Mr Barker from entering the Sainsbury’s Local store on Bankfields Road in Eston, and the Shell service station on Eston High Street.

However, last Wednesday, Mr Barker entered the Sainsbury’s Local in Eston and stole a number of products.

Later that day he also attended the Shell store and stole several products from there.

Officers from the Greater Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team located Barker at his home address the following morning and arrested him on suspicion of two shop thefts and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Mr Barker appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on 9th February and was jailed for 18 weeks.

A man has been arrested after officers from the Proactive Team carried out targeted patrols in North Ormesby.

Officers stop searched a man on Tuesday evening and seized a quantity of Class B drugs, believed to be cannabis.

An address was also searched which led to officers seizing further Class B drugs and drug paraphernalia.

A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
