Parents and Carers of Year Six pupils across Redcar & Cleveland are urged to make sure that they confirm their child’s secondary school place as soon as possible.

The deadline for selecting school places for September 2015 is Friday 31st October so it is vitally important that applications are sent in soon to guarantee the student gets into their preferred school.

Information packs were sent out to parents or carers in August, guiding them through the process of registering and applying for places online at the Redcar & Cleveland Council website - however, many applications are still outstanding.

If you need any more information on the application process you can ring the School Admissions department on: 01642 837730/837740.

Cllr Joan Guy, Cabinet member for Children’s Services and Education, said: “Giving pupils and their parents or carers the choice to select the school they wish to attend gives them the ability to look at the school and particularly the specialisms most suitable for their future.”

For parents or carers still unsure of the school options available to them, Christine Morris is a School Choice Adviser who can assist with the choices available to pupils. She is available Monday to Wednesday and can be contacted on 01642 759074.
