Police are appealing for CCTV and witnesses after an arson attack at a property in Guisborough.

The incident occurred at a property on Huby Court at around half past midnight yesterday.

Fortunately, the occupants in the house at the time were unharmed during the incident.

Officers are appealing for CCTV of any persons or vehicles in the area between 12:30am-12:40am this morning, and are particularly interested in any footage showing a distinctive white Jaguar F Type R convertible.

Any witnesses or anyone who may have information can contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Police were called to a popular beauty spot in our area yesterday after calls from members of the public.

At around 1pm yesterday, Cleveland Police attended Roseberry Topping after reports of men believed to be in possession of a weapon.

It is believed that a video showing the group was also circulated online.

Officers spoke with a group of men and confirmed that the weapon was an imitation firearm.

This was confiscated by police and words of advice were given.

Cleveland Police have thanked those members of the public who called to make them aware.

Thousands of spectators attended the National Cycling Championship road race - which came to East Cleveland for the second year running yesterday.

The sun shone and it is estimated that even bigger crowds than last year attended the race while also enjoying street entertainers, live music and community art events.

The event was a chance to show off the beautiful countryside of our area to cycle fans across the country.

Pfeiffer Georgi made it a hat-trick of national road race titles winning the women’s race while Ethan Hayter was victorious in a fiercely contested men’s race.
