Police are appealing for information following a collision in Eston at the weekend.
The collision occurred shortly before 11pm on Saturday and involved a motorcycle and a car.
Officers say that at this stage it's believed the white Hyundai was exiting California Road when the collision occurred with the Honda CBR 600 motorbike that was carrying two people.
Shortly after the collision, the rider fled the scene leaving the 16-year-old passenger on the ground.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance with significant injuries and is in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and is currently in police custody.
Officers investigating the collision are appealing for the rider of the motorcycle to come forward and appealing for information, CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist with their enquiries.
Officers are asking for the publics help following a garage burglary in Guisborough where three bikes were stolen.
The bikes were stolen from a garage on Rievaulx Way in Guisborough in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It’s believed a number of garages were targeted in the area that evening and enquiries are currently ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI lifeboats were called into action at the weekend.
Just after 8pm on Saturday both the Redcar lifeboats were launched to separate incidents.
The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was sent to investigate reports of a kite spotted off Huntcliff.
Nothing was found and the lifeboat was stood down.
Meanwhile the D Class lifeboat was launched to assist a kayaker reported to be in difficulty close to the windfarm.
The kayaker managed to return to the shore safely and the lifeboat returned to the boathouse.
