Both the Redcar Lifeboats, Coastguard, Police, Ambulance and Helicopter crews have been involved in a rescue operation in Marske on Sunday night.

Crews were scrambled to a report of a person in the sea at 23:33 and raced to the area just off the High St (pictured) where Coastguard crews located a woman casualty at the waters edge, who was handed over the Ambulance crews and taken to James Cook Hospital for treatment.

The Police helicopter was seen making a search along the beach area from Redcar towards Marske just prior to the woman being located. Her condition isn't known at present.
