Redcar Newmarket fought out a five-goal thriller with league leaders Boro Rangers in Saturday's Mitre ProStar MacMillan Bowl clash.

Boro Rangers are through to their second final of the season after coming from behind at Redcar Newmarket in the Mitre Prostar MacMillan Bowl League Cup to win 3-2, Kieron Clark gave Newmarket the lead after fourteen minutes, only for Robbie Keenan to make it 1-1 at half time, Danny Lockwood gave Boro rangers the lead ten minutes into the second half with Jamie Bellamy making it 3-1 with twenty minutes remaining, Clark struck again with ten minutes left on the watch, but Boro Rangers progressed, but will have to wait to see who they play in the final as the other semi, Fishburn Park v Whinney Banks YCC was abandoned after twenty minutes when Fishburn forward Jake Faichney suffered a suspected broken leg.

On the League front Stockton West End move to within six points of leaders Boro Rangers, but have no played a game more, after coming from behind against BEADS, after Karl Liley opened after ten minutes, Ben Turner made it 1-1 from the penalty spot, John Leyshon and Joe Teasdale scoring to give West End a 3-1 before Jake Large made it 4-1, Liley pulled it back to 4-2 but Large completed his hat trick to make it a final score of 6-2, Thornaby Dubliners move up to forth after a 4-1 victory at Yarm, Thirsk Falcons were held to a 1-1 draw by Lingdale, St Mary’s College and Grangetown Boys Club drew 2-2, as did Staithes Athletic and Redcar Town while Nunthorpe Athletic won the battle of the bottom two with a 4-3 victory over Billingham FC.
