TEESSIDE LEAGUE ROUND-UP 23/4/16
Saturday's clash of the champions saw a shock, while Redcar Newmarket were well beaten in their cup final rehearsal.

Leaders Boro Rangers hopes of going through the league program unbeaten came to an abrupt end when they entertained current Champions Whinney Banks YCC who were well matched with the champions elect, but the game was won in time added on when Jordan Wilson scored the only goal of the game to give Whinney Banks a 1-0 victory.
Second placed Stockton West End were at their Lou Moore Trophy final opponents Redcar Newmarket, after a goalless first half Michael Snaith gave West End a 1-0 lead on the hour, eight minutes later Joe Teasdale made it 2-0 with Sean O’Brien making it 3-0, Kieran Clark with his 30th of the season pulled it back to 3-1 but two minutes later the League’s top goal scorer Ben Turner with his 50th of the season gave West End a 4-1 lead before Jake Large made sure of the points when he made it 5-1.
Thornaby Dubliners remain in fourth place after a 4-2 victory over Staithes Athletic, Anton Buchan gave the Dubliners an early lead, but Luke Weed made it 1- before Aaron Scott gave the Dubliners a 2-1 half time lead, Matthew Allen made it 3-1 on the hour, but Karl Flatters pulled it back to 3-2 before Joe Carter made it 4-2 with ten minutes remaining, Thirsk Falcons had a 3-0 victory at Lingdale with all the goals coming in the first half, Ben Gillbank gave Thirsk a 18th minute lead, Liam Cook made it 2-0 twelve minutes later with Luke Burnett making it 3-0 on the stroke of half time.
Fishburn Park bounced back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory at BEADS who took a first half lead through Jamie Dalton, Sam Richardson made it 1-1 ten minutes into the second half, with Luke Storr making it 2-1 with five minutes remaining before James Organ-Simpson secured the points when he made it 3-1 in the last minute, Billingham FC entertained Grangetown Boys Club in a mid-day kick off and won only their second match of the season 2-1, Shaun Laverick gave Billingham the lead after half an hour, but Kenny Portus made it 1-1 at half time, the second half was very tight but on the hour Laverick with his second of the match secured the Billingham sides only second victory of the season, Nunthorpe Athletic entertained Redcar Town who after a goalless first half took the lead through Sean Mackin in the 70th minute, two minutes later Lee Armes rescued a point when he made it 1-1.
