There will be limited trains between Saltburn and Darlington over this weekend and Monday.

This is due to Northern Rail guards and drivers striking due to the uncertainty of their jobs.

Today and Monday there will be limited trains between Saltburn and Darlington from around half six in the morning until five.

On Sunday there will be hourly trains from half eight in the morning til half four.

Northern Rail is warning customers that all the services are expected to be very busy.

Police are clamping down on drivers using mobile phones next week.

They are carrying out extra patrols to try and find and educate culprits.

It comes after harsher penalties to raise fines to 200 pounds were introduced earlier this year.

Drivers can also expect six penalty points on their licence.

A similar campaign was launched in March where police issued 46 penalties across Cleveland and Durham.

The children of Redcar and Cleveland have results achieved test well above the national average this year.

69% of primary school students aged between seven and eleven got expected or above expected results in reading, writing and maths.

That's 8% more children than the national average.

Maths was their strongest area overall, with a massive 84% achieving the results they needed.
