Neighbourhood officers went to a property in Charlotte Street on Saturday afternoon where they recovered tablets and arrested a 33-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class C drugs.
A search of the address also soon revealed multiple toiletry gift sets and advent calendars, large amounts of laundry products, air fresheners, confectionery, alcohol, children’s books, and underwear and sock sets.
The items matched descriptions of goods which had been reported as having been taken from local shops - as well as from a recent burglary.
The pair were then further arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
They were interviewed and then bailed whilst enquiries continue.

In the run up to Christmas and through to the new year period, the annual festive campaign is taking place nationally, targeting those who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This year, officers are again out in force to tackle the issue head on, and will be enforcing the law and taking decisive action against anyone who puts others at risk.
Last year, during the same festive campaign, 157 people were arrested after being suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Of those arrested, 82 were positive for drugs, 71 were positive for alcohol, and four failed to provide a sample for analysis.
However, whilst 157 drivers were found to be under the influence, the law-abiding majority of motorists tested negative for alcohol or drugs.
