Police are appealing for information after a man suffered facial injuries when he was attacked by a group of other men in Normanby.

The incident happened at 11.45pm on Saturday night outside Venice Pizza.

The 26-year-old victim was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

There were several other customers present, but many left the scene as the incident took place.

They are now being urged to get in touch with police as they may have information which could help the investigation.

At 3.30 yesterday afternoon the Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched in search for a missing person between Redcar and Saltburn.

No further details of the incident have been released.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after two reports of robbery in the Middlesbrough area.

The first incident happened at around 3.30am on Saturday on Linthorpe Road.

Two women were reportedly approached by a man described as being a white male, wearing a grey coloured tracksuit.

The man allegedly threatened the women with a knife in order for them to hand over money before making off towards Gresham Road.

The second incident happened at around 1.45am on Sunday on Linthorpe Road.

A lone man was reportedly approached by a man, matching the same description, who allegedly threatened him with a knife in order for him to hand over his mobile phone before making off towards Gresham Road.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released under investigation, and enquiries are ongoing.
