Residents living in Redcar and Grangetown are being advised that they may see an increased police presence  as enquiries continue into the murder of Mark Robinson.

40-year-old Mark was the victim of a serious assault at a property in Station Road on July 28, 2020.

He suffered a head injury and required lengthy hospital treatment and then full-time care, until he sadly passed away on August 5, 2021.

His family are receiving support from specially trained officers and three men were arrested and are under investigation in connection with Mark's death.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the non-emergency number 101.

 

Motorists faced rush hour delays yesterday teatime following an accident on the A66.

The A66 Westbound was blocked with queuing traffic due to an accident at Normanby Road, close to the Asda Traffic lights.

The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed the vehicles involved in the crash.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance service confirmed that they were called at 16.15pm to attend an road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike.

One ambulance crew and a rapid response paramedic were dispatched, and transported one patient to James Cook Hospital.

 

Police have arrested a man after reported incident at Flares nightclub in Middlesbrough yesterday.

Following a report to police at around 2am yesterday reporting concerns of the behaviour of a man inside a nightclub, officers attended and recovered a quantity of suspected Class B drugs from a 41-year-old man.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs and on suspicion of administering a noxious substance with intent to commit a sexual offence.

The 41-year-old man remains in custody and faces questioning.

Enquiries are on-going and anyone who believes they may have been affected, or anyone who has information is encouraged to call police on the non-emergency number 101.
