Police were called to the High Street in Guisborough yesterday afternoon following reports of an assault.

Cleveland Police and crime scene investigators attended the scene of the incident on the town's high street, close to Morrisons, at around 3pm.

Witnesses have said that the response followed a stabbing, although this remains unconfirmed.

Officers remained at the scene yesterday afternoon.

 

Emergency services were called to a house in Marske after a fire broke out yesterday morning.

Cleveland Fire Brigade were called to a house on Blackburn Grove yesterday morning, after they received reports of a fire just after 7am.

Two appliances from Redcar and Saltburn attended the incident and left the property around 7.40am.

There are no reports of any injuries, and the cause of the fire or amount of damage done to the house is not currently known.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 12-year-old boy was threatened and robbed in Middlesbrough.

The incident happened between 2.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday, in woods behind Trinity Catholic College on Lacy Road.

The boy was approached by a suspect believed to be a juvenile male, who threatened him with a knife, before making off with sweets which the victim had.

The suspect is described as a male, possibly a juvenile, of average build, around 5ft 8" tall and wearing a black tracksuit with his face covered.

Fortunately the boy was uninjured, however, he was left shaken by the incident.
