Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following serious collision on the A174 Parkway.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a collision involving a grey VW T-ROC at the Low Lane slip road off the A174 Parkway eastbound just before 4.30am yesterday.

A man and a woman - both in their 30s - sustained serious injuries and were taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital.

The road was closed for much of yesterday morning for collision investigation work and reopened just before lunchtime.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

The volunteer crew of the Redcar RNLI Lifeboat have been called into action in our area.

Just after 1am yesterday morning the Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched to assist in the search for a missing person.

However police called off the search some time later and the lifeboat crew were able to return to the station.

Police are appealing for witnesses and any driver with dash cam footage following a single vehicle collision in Guisborough.

At around 11am last Thursday the black Kia Sorento was travelling north along Whaddon Chase towards Dulverton Way when it left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

The driver, a 72-year-old man, sustained several broken vertebrae and a fractured sternum and was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital where he was kept in for treatment.

If you saw or have dash cam footage of the vehicle before or during the collision, please contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
