...and Police are appealing after a man has suffered serious head injuries in what is believed to have been an assault in the South Bank area of Middlesbrough.

 

One person has been hospitalised following a collision that closed a busy road in Saltburn .

The ambulance service, fire brigade and police were all called to Saltburn Road just after 1pm yesterday following reports of a collision involving a bus and a car.

Two double crewed ambulances attended the scene alongside a clinical team leader and a rapid response car from the North East Ambulance Service.

Three fire appliances were also in attendance after one car was flipped onto its roof, alongside officers from Cleveland Police.

One person is confirmed to have been treated at the scene before being discharged, while another individual was taken to the James Cook University Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the crash.

 

Police are appealing to trace two Good Samaritans who assisted a victim of assault in our area.

A male suspect assaulted the 21-year-old male victim in the Valley Gardens in Saltburn between 6pm and 8pm last Tuesday, before the victim made his way to the Queens Public House on Windsor Road.

Two men assisted with the man's care and escorted the victim to an address in Guisborough in a taxi.

Officers would like to speak to these two men and the driver of the taxi, as they may be able to assist with their enquiries.

 

Police are appealing after a man has suffered serious head injuries in what is believed to have been an assault in the South Bank area of Middlesbrough.

A 36-year-old man remains in hospital in a "critical" condition.

The incident is believed to have happened shortly after 1am on Saturday after the victim had visited the Albion Social Club on Henry Street and then walked towards Keir Hardie Crescent.

Anyone who may have witnessed any assault or anyone with information or CCTV footage on these roads around the time of the incident is asked to call police.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and was taken into police custody.
