Police have issued an appeal to parents and carers after a spate of serious incidents in Greater Eston.

Young children have been throwing bricks at passing vehicles, smashing windows on a number of occasions.

A spokesperson for the Greater Eston Neighbourhood Police Team said that throwing items at passing vehicles is a serious offence and could have catastrophic consequences - including serious injury or worse.

Officers are urging parents and carers to know where their children are at all times and to ensure they’re not committing criminal offences or involved in antisocial behaviour.

Police say they will be carrying out extra patrols in the area and will take action against anyone suspected of taking part in antisocial behaviour or crime.

Police have erected cordons at flats in South Bank with officers stationed at the scene.

Cleveland Police officers attended South Terrace with witnesses reporting officers arriving around 1pm yesterday.

Blue and white 'do not enter' tape was put up at two locations with one piece of tape outside South Court flats, and the other feet away at the entrance to another property.

A police van and a police car were still in the street of terraced houses yesterday evening.

No further details of the incident have yet been made available.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have launched a special web page to keep residents up to date with parking improvements in Saltburn.

The council recently announced that works were starting on Marine Parade in the town to improve parking provision which will allow more cars to park during busy periods.

Now a dedicated web page has been created with answers to a few questions that have been received from residents.

The council says it plans to update the page regularly as the project progresses.

Detailed plans on the project will also be available to view in Saltburn Library and on information boards on Marine Parade throughout October.

To view the web page, visit the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council website.
