Two men have been sentenced following a drugs warrant which was carried out by police in Middlesbrough in 2022.

30-year-old Mark Andrew Fuller and 25-year-old Jordan Stevenson appeared at Teesside Crown Court yesterday.

The court heard how officers attended an address on Kildare Street in November 2022, where the two men fled from the back of the property as officers entered by the front door and back gates.

Mark Fuller was in possession of a machete, which he threw over a wall into the next yard.

He was also found to have £1,195 in cash on him and a Samsung tablet.

Jordan Stevenson was found in possession of a quantity of white rocks inside separate grip seal bags worth around £1,150.

Mark Fuller is already serving a prison sentence for a drugs offence and was further sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Jordan Stevenson, of Millbrook Ave in Middlesbrough, was also sentenced to two years imprisonment.

Police have seized two cannabis farms in our area over the past two days.

Both cannabis farms were located in properties on Essex Street in Middlesbrough, and were discovered on Thursday and Friday this week.

A total of 423 cannabis plants were seized from one property while 403 plants were recovered from the second, meaning approximately £826,000 worth of cannabis was seized.

Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in our local area is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council have announced that a popular park in our area will be temporarily closed next week.

In order to undertake some essential tree maintenance and removal, South Park Wood in Normanby will be closed from Monday for 5 days.

The park entry gate located at Mallinson Park will also be closed for the duration of the tree maintenance and removal works.

The play area in Tittybottle Park will still be open for the public and can be accessed via the gate closest to the pedestrian crossing.
