Police have made six arrests in connection with an incident in Thorntree on Monday.

Around 12:55pm on Monday, officers received a report of occupants of a vehicle arriving at a property on Barrington Crescent whilst possibly in possession of weapons.

No one was harmed in the incident.

Six men; two aged 23, three aged 32 and one aged 41, have been arrested and bailed whilst enquiries continue.

Officers are continuing to carry out high visibility patrols and urge anyone who may have concerns or may have information to approach these officers or call Cleveland Police on 101.

Three people have been arrested and a number of vehicles were seized during a two-day operation to tackle crime on the roads in South Bank last week.

During the first day of the operation, a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and he was bailed pending further enquiries.

A 32-year-old man was reported to court for disqualified driving and possession of a Class C drug after officers stopped a vehicle on Normanby Road. The vehicle was also seized.

Officers also arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of drug driving and she was bailed pending further enquiries.

On the second day of the operation, an electric motorbike was sighted on Strauss Road and tracked to an address.

When officers went to seize the vehicle, a man allegedly became aggressive towards officers and was subsequently arrested.

The 37-year-old male arrested on suspicion of affray and obstructing a police officer in execution of duty. He was bailed pending further enquiries and the motorbike was also seized by officers.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council says is working jointly with the Board of Trustees at Ann Charlton Lodge care home in Redcar, to ensure the home stays open.

The 25-bed home was recently facing closure however this decision has been reversed and the home will be staying open.

The Council will be working jointly with the Trustees of the home, providing advice and support to ensure Ann Charlton Lodge remains sustainable for the long term.

The care home offers long term nursing care and short-term respite care and is believed to be unique in Britain, being the only such home run by an independent charity.
