Cleveland Police Welcomes Transferee Officers From Across The UK
Thirteen police officers transferring from other forces as far away as Northern Ireland and Scotland are joining Cleveland Police this week.
The men and women will take part in induction training for the first three weeks where they will gain insight into their new area, the force’s set up and organisational practices.
The following fortnight involves various development days on different subjects (and which all existing operational staff have received over the last year), and IT training after which they will be issued with mobile devices.
After that, they will be posted to teams around the force area.
Iain Spittal, Cleveland Police’s Deputy Chief Constable said: “We are delighted to welcome our colleagues who are joining us from many different forces across the UK; it is pleasing that they have chosen to transfer to Cleveland Police where they can be assured of a busy and varied career which is often challenging - but always rewarding.
“I’m sure they all bring a wealth of experience and skills which will complement the good work already being carried out by police and partners to keep our communities safe.”
Police & Crime Commissioner Barry Coppinger added: “Cleveland is a fantastic area to live and work in and I’m pleased that these officers have made a commitment to come to work in our communities tackling crime and antisocial behaviour. I look forward to welcoming them all.”
